Your Friend, YURI

This game is addressed to IPS teachers and students who are interested to try it.

Your friend, Yuri! is a 2D pixel art style city builder/farming sim mixed with 3D firstperson shoot 'em up, where players will be able to customize their piece of the Earth. 

Fight invading aliens and battle a new disease brought by the aliens, all in order to secure the place of humans on earth!

• Story

In the very distant future planet Earth has encountered an alien invasion by an invasive and oppressive species intent on colonizing the planet, this species has been named the Zenomorphs. With the introduction of a new organism into the Earth's ecosystem, a new disease was created that is deadly to humans and has almost instantaneous effects. Between the sword and the wall, the humans' only hope is Yuri, a hybrid alien who has decided to ally himself with the humans in the fight against the invaders and in the effort to find an ultimate cure for the new disease.

• Main goal
  • The goal is to build as many structures as possible being as efficient as possible in order to increase the life span of the population, if the population is almost all dead the player can go on expeditions to look for seeds and survivors taking into account that these spend energy. The energy bar must be full for the player to go on expedition.
• Farming
  • The player can plant special seeds witch are called "starplant seeds", and harvest and use them as a fuel or to craft important buildings.
• Explore
  • Explore the small island where Yuri landed, and garther resources to help you craft more buildings!
• Expeditions
  • The 3D part in this game is to go on expeditions in search of seeds to plant starplant, which are the key ingredient to develop vaccines that delay the effects of this new disease. As a second objective we can rescue survivors to join our community and increase the population.
• Combat
  • The action part of the game is a FPS shoot'em up, the player will have at his disposal a semi-automatic energy weapon that will be used to kill the invading aliens by keeping his distance from the red enemies while dodging the green ones' projectiles.
• Controls
  • 2D Controls
    • W-A-S-D keys: Move around.
    • E: Plant/Harvest
    • 1-2-3: Change selected tool.
    • In Building Mode:
      • Mouse LMB: Place building.
      • Mouse RMB: Cancel blueprint.
  • 3D Controls
    • W-A-S-D keys: Move around.
      
    • Space: Jump.
    • Mouse: Aim.
    • Mouse LMB: Shoot.
